Welcome to Safe Haven!

Hola, my name is Asher Marx, or Jeff. Here is what SH is about: Having fun and making good friends that you will still have 10 years from now. If that isn't the type of atmosphere you are looking for in a guild then I suggest you keep searching. We are not hardcore, pretty casual, I work fulltime, go to class fulltime, and I have a social life so my time is pretty occupied. We are not leet or drama filled either, we are laid back mature group of people. If you bring some drama type trouble you will be asked to leave. I would hope you guys would expect us to ask people like that to leave anyways. 

Anyways below is a brief history about SH, if you are interested in joining then go back to the main page and hit the specific games page or the forum to follow through to the recruitment board for the page. If you apply for SH its like joining a family, glad to have you at the table. We've had some meetings in real life too, the last one was at the SD Comic Con, and I hope to have another one in Las Vegas soon. Hope to see you there. 

History

Safe Haven first started back in the early 90's while I was in High School and just getting onto the internet. The first game that I really got into online was Starcraft, I had played a lot of games prior to that, Civilization is still the best game ever created, but that was the game that really got me into Online Gaming and after playing for a bit by myself I joined up with one of those crazy, we have a spy division, type of guilds. That was good because it showed me exactly what I didn't want. 

So I made my own guild, couldn't much think of a name so I picked Safe Haven off of a Magic the Gathering card that I had and I thought it appropriate. We played a lot of Starcraft and branched out into Diablo a bit as well. It was easy with early b.net, great system. We just had a geocities page and not much organization so when I joined the Army we all lost touch. Pretty horrible I think, the whole point of SH now is not to lose touch with the friends you make online now. 

After I got settled in I went back to the next MMO that was coming up, Asheron's Call 2. I loved the first one and wanted to do it right, so I made these forums in January of 2003 and got ready for launch. We got some good people, some of whom are still with us today. I had to deploy to Iraq and AC2 kinda sucked so it didn't really let SH grow as much as I wanted it to, but thanks to Kkatan and Lighselm taking over SH while I was gone SH made it through it and we all were ready for SWG.

I have a lot of great memories of SWG, it was the game that let SH really grow into what I had envisioned so thats what Ill probley remember the longest, that and the player city, loved that a whole bunch. As of this writing SH is bigger than ever on Corellia, not that we just want to be a big guild, but its a good place to be too. Anyways during this time I personally got all hyped up on the next MMO coming out, Horizons, and we decided to have a guild in both games and I would lead em both at the same time. Craziness, I just didnt have the time and Hor really sucked so Blink took over that game into its deathbed and we went back to SWG.
